TNT Super Series champion to be crownedthis Saturday at Dunn Tire Raceway
Park
45 racers...11 events...55 rounds...and then there
were two!
CANFIELD, ONTARIO (September 28, 2009) The 2009 Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series champion will be
determined this Saturday October 3rd when the series returns to Dunn Tire Raceway Park (DTRP) in Lancaster,
New York. A total of 45 racers have battled all summer long through 11 events and 55 rounds of
competition with some of the best side-by-side sportsman drag racing in the southern Ontario / western New
York area. Scott Jahren Paint presents the season finale and the competition
is expected to be as tough as ever.

Series title sponsor, Joe Boniferro is extremely pleased with the third season. "We've
supported this series from the beginning because I knew there was talent in these
local guys. This year alone, our guys have taken home multiple Ironmen and one has a shot at a
world championship!"
And this weekend will be no different - There are eight drivers racing for the top five yearend
spots. Everyone wants the prestige of a top five finish, but also their share in the yearend TNT
awards.
Paul Young of Alden, NY is currently in first place with 735 points and has momentum on his
side. He's followed closely behind by Jamie Stoneman of Cheektowaga, NY with 720 points. Jamie led
the points for most of the season due to a very strong, early run but then lost the lead to Paul at the
last event. One of these two will be the 2009 champion since everyone else has been mathematically
eliminated.
Gary Kerl of Williamsville, NY sits in third with 654 points. With a good run on Saturday,
Gary can improve to second place. Fourth is Tom Coonly of Blasdell, NY with 647 points. Tom has been
on fire lately with many late round appearances and could also reach second place with a strong run.
Bill Elekes of West Seneca, NY is on the bump spot in fifth place with 630 points and can improve
to third before the day is out. Right behind Bill is 2008 TNT champ, Ted Barnes of Canfield, ON sitting in
sixth place with 624 points who also has third place in his sights. Other drivers within reach of the top
five include Ken Jozwiak of Alden, NY and Fred Gross of Brampton, ON.
"The season finale is going to be awesome," commented Scott Jahren. "Last year, the TNT
championship came down to the final round of the final race. And we're just excited to be a part of
it."
